Take a Tour of Michael Lomonaco's Freshly Revamped Porter House Bar and Grill

The nearly decade-old steakhouse has been remodeled and reinvented

Last month, Michael Lomonaco announced that he would be renovating his nearly 10-year old steakhouse, Porter House NY. When it reopens this coming Friday, it will do so with not only a different look, but also a subtle difference in the branding. The restaurant has been rechristened Porter House Bar and Grill and the redesign — performed by Jeffrey Beers, who designed the original space — has rendered the dining room and especially the bar and lounge brighter and more approachable. This is by design. Lomonaco wanted to make the restaurant seem less like a solemn, stuffy steakhouse and instead imbue it with a tavern-like feel. Take a look at the almost-ready-for-prime-time space below, and if you stop by on Friday or over the weekend do let us know what you think.
