1) Bushwick: Fair Weather Bushwick is reopening today after bringing on its first chef: John Creger. Originally opened as a daytime coffee shop, Fair Weather has now transformed into a new full-service restaurant. The 22-seat dining room will serve a 10 course tasting menu for $65 during the week, and an a la cart menu Friday and Saturdays. Options on the a la carte menu include quinoa fritters, potato gnocchi with chanterelles, and beef short ribs with smoked gouda polenta. Weekend brunch is also available. 2) Little Italy: The team behind NYC restaurants including Local 92, Eolo, and Ciao Trattoria opened Capri Ristorante yesterday in Little Italy. Options on the menu include spaghetti with Sunday sauce and meatballs; whole branzino; Grigliata di Pesce with grilled shrimp, calamari, and lobster served over pasta; and a grilled veal chop. 3) Bushwick: Last week, neighborhood favorite The Johnson's became home to Duncan's Fancy, an offshoot of the late night burger delivery Duncan's Burgers. Founder Galen Duncan and his team are serving a toppings-heavy burger on the menu and plan to add fried chicken sandwiches, fish filets, and French fries soon. 4) West Village: Alphabet City lunch and supper counter Bobwhite opened a second location recently in the West Village. The new outpost serves the same options as the original including a Buffalo chicken sandwich, a pimento cheese & vegetarian collards sandwich, and a catfish supper with a biscuit and slaw. 5) Chelsea: Fast-casual restaurant Between the Bread opened its third and largest location today in NYC. Housed inside Chelsea's Terminal Warehouse on 27th Street, Between the Bread will serve seasonally-inspired dishes for breakfast and lunch. Sandwich options include the Chrysler with grilled chicken, avocado, bacon, and onion; the Dakota with salmon and cucumber; and the Guggenheim with poached shrimp and remick sauce. 6) Bushwick: On Friday, the Dear Bushwick space re-opened under its new concept: Sincerely Burger. The menu here is split in two with "naughty" and "nice" sides. The nice side will serve relatively healthy options like veggie burgers, braised carrots, and root chips. 7) Midtown: Green Fig recently opened on the fourth floor of Yotel on 42nd Street. The menu at Green Fig, dubbed a "tribute to the five senses," is inspired by the North African Maghreb region and the teams interpretation of "Middleterranean" modern cuisine. 8) Bushwick: My Sweet is a brand new shop specializing in brigadeiro, Brazil's favorite confection. The bite-size treat comes in many flavors including coconut, almond, cinnamon pecan, lavender, and pistachio. The store also serves My Sweet's collaboration ice cream with Häagen-Dazs.
