Sant Ambroeus Restaurateurs OUT at Regency Bar & Grill

The partnership between Loews Hotels chairman Jon Tisch and the Sant Ambroeus team of Gherardo Guarducci and Dimitri Pauli in the Regency Bar & Grill has ended. "We mutually decided to take back operating the Regency Bar & Grill ourselves,'' confirms Tisch. "Loews Hotels owns and operates 24 hotels where we run many successful restaurants and bars.''

The restaurant, which opened just over two years ago with chef Dan Silverman, has also just hired a new executive chef, Catherine Medrano, who most recently worked as Executive Chef at The Hyatt Regency Jersey City On The Hudson, and was also Executive Chef roles at the Park Hyatt in Chicago and Stanhope Park Hyatt in New York. The Regency Bar & Grill is home to the famous weekday "power breakfast," attended by politicians and other notable New Yorkers.

Sant Ambroeus will still be involved with the hotel's lobby cafe. "We look forward to continuing to partner with Sant Ambroeus Hospitality on the successful Sant Ambroeus café, which has become a staple for guests staying at the Loews Regency Hotel and New York City locals,'' says Tisch.
