The hammer's finally coming down on Puck Fair. The popular Soho bar is closing at the end of the month after 16 years in business, a fate that was anticipated a couple years ago when a developer submitted a proposal to build a luxury retail development in its place. Puck Fair, at 298 Lafayette St., has been a month-to-month lease since the announcement, according to Gothamist, which first reported the news. In its place will be an 80,000-square-foot retail and office building. It will break ground soon, according to the developer's website. You can pour one out at Puck Fair's goodbye party on Friday, March 25, when the bar will be offering drink specials and live music.
