Mario Batali and Joe Bastianich Italian colossus La Sirena launches lunch service today and will start serving brunch this weekend. The restaurant, the duo's first in New York City in a decade, opened for dinner last month in a sprawling space at the Maritime Hotel with two dining rooms and a 38-foot bar. With the launch of lunch and brunch, La Sirena is officially open for all meals, from breakfast to dinner.
The lunch menu mimics the dinner one with its selection of pastas, but it also has a burger, "drive in" style with two three-ounce patties and caramelized onions on a potato roll. Brunch offers items like a Sardinian-style semolina fritters, a frittata with root vegetables, and eggs in purgatory, an egg dish in a spicy tomato sauce. Check out the full menus below, and let us know what you think if you stop by.
