'Worst Steakhouse in NYC' Texas de Brazil Closes UES Location, Plans to Relocate

The all-you-can-eat Brazilian steakhouse did not say where it would move.

New York's location of Brazilian all-you-can-eat steakhouse chain Texas de Brazil — a restaurant that Steve Cuozzo declared "the worst steakhouse in NYC" last year — has closed its doors. A voicemail message at the Upper East Side restaurant says that it will be relocating, but it did not say when or where. Texas de Brazil corporate offices did not immediately respond to request for comment.

The chain has locations in seven countries and 17 states, including six locations in New York state. Texas de Brazil at 1011 Third Ave. was the only location in New York City, and it's already been swiped from the chain's website restaurant locator. A tipster says the staff was spotted packing up plates and liquor on Monday. Not all reviewers across the country hate Texas de Brazil as much as Cuozzo, but others also noted that the all-you-can-eat format means some sacrifice in quality.
