Longtime late night favorite 69 Bayard Street is having its last day of service on Saturday, an employee confirmed. The small Chinatown restaurant — whose walls and ceilings are famously lined with dollar bills — has been around since at least the 1970s and is one of the few places in the neighborhood that's open super late night. It was once known for its gravy noodles and more recently for its off-menu oxtail on rice. Fans of the restaurant are already flocking to 69 Bayard for their last meals. The employee did not have further information on why the restaurant is closing. Eater has left a message for the owner and will update if we hear back.
