A fire broke out at the Williamsburg Woops! BakeShop cafe Wednesday morning, injuring five people and shuttering the macaron bakery, DNAinfo reports. The flames started at the back of the bakery at 548 Driggs Ave. around 7 a.m. and went up to the apartment, ultimately giving two civilians and three firefighters minor injuries. More than 100 firefighters went to the scene, and the flames took more than an hour to subside, according to DNAinfo. Meanwhile, the French macaron bakery says in a Facebook post that it will be closed until further notice. There are four other Woops BakeShop locations in New York, including on the Upper East Side and in Tribeca. The cause of the fire is still being investigated.
