Mario Batali and Joe Bastianich's massive new restaurant La Sirena opens for dinner service tonight. The modern Italian trattoria surprise-opened Wednesday night for drinks, making use of a 38-foot long bar that acts as the centerpiece of the space, but tonight is when the kitchen really starts to roll. Bastianich has said that the menu is somewhat broader than the his previous projects with Batali, with items intended to appeal to a wide variety of palates. Options include a bucatini with a spicy octopus tomato sauce; a lasagna with pesto, potatoes, and bechamel; and grilled lamb chops with chickpea flour fritters. Prices start at $14 for appetizers and $19 for pastas and entrees. Check out the full menu below, and let us know what you think if you stop in.
