Acclaimed barbecue restaurant Mighty Quinn's is planning a 2,500-square-foot Staten Island location, the Commercial Observer reports. The restaurant is joining the Empire Outlets retail complex, a planned new outlet mall that will feature 40 to 50 dining options, including an "artisanal food hall" called the Marketplace, according to a statement from the developer. The Mighty Quinn's here will have outdoor seating, skyline views, and a menu similar to other locations, with options like brisket, pulled pork, and spare ribs.
The Empire Outlets complex will ultimately have more than 100 stores, a 190-room hotel, and 40,000-square-feet dedicated to food and drink options. Starbucks is in talks for 2,000-square-feet of space, while the food hall will likely have 25 stations, according to the Commercial Observer. Shopping options so far include Nordstrom Rack, H&M, Guess Factory Store, and Banana Republic Factory Store.
Mighty Quinn's started as a Smorgasburg vendor and has since become one of the city's biggest barbecue mini-chains. Porprietor-pitmaster Hugh Mangum currently operates four New York restaurants, two Smorgasburg stalls, and a New Jersey outpost. An Upper East Side restaurant is also on the way. The popular barbecue restaurant has signed a 15-year lease at $100-per-square foot for the space in Staten Island.
