Here Is a Look at La Sirena, Batali & Bastianich's Chelsea Juggernaut in the Maritime Hotel

This might be the biggest restaurant to open this year, in terms of space if nothing else.

Here is a look around La Sirena, the newest restaurant from Mario Batali and Joe Bastianich. Babbo veteran Josh Laurano is helming the kitchen, and Le Bernardin alum/ICE creative director Michael Laiskonis is heading up the pastry department. Luca Vesnaver, formerly of Babbo, is running the floor, and Del Posto's Jeff Katz is overseeing the whole shebang. The palatial space houses two dining rooms that seat 100 guests, divided by a sprawling 38-foot long white Caeserstone bar. The restaurant officially opens for dinner service at 5 p.m. on Thursday, but as a special surprise the bar is opening tonight at 5:30 p.m. Stay tuned for the menu tomorrow. If you visit the La Sirena let us know all about it.
