Scenes From the Opening Night of Danny Meyer’s Reborn Union Square Cafe

Almost exactly one year ago, Danny Meyer closed his flagship restaurant, Union Square Cafe. And last night, Meyer and his team reopened that celebrated establishment in its new, more spacious home on the corner of East 19th Street and Park Avenue. Photographer Daniel Krieger was there on both nights. Here’s a look at the scene from last evening, as Meyer and the Union Square Cafe team welcomed both longtime customers and fresh faces into the new iteration of this classic New York restaurant:
