Sichuan Chili Salmon at Chikarashi: An editor friend has been telling everyone who’ll listen how good Chikarashi is, a Chinatown place that produces what it calls "chef-driven poke." My Scottish salmon came slathered with an orange dressing that imparted a burn to my lips, and a mellow glow to my stomach. Indeed, it was the best poke I’d tried so far, and left me eight more combinations to test in the coming months. Happy New Year! 227 Canal St, 646-649-5965
