Danny Volk, who was a managing partner at Catch before opening the gastropub The Upsider on Second Avenue, is gearing up to open a new spot. The as-yet-unnamed restaurant located at 33 Greenwich Avenue will have a Southern-inspired menu with such offerings as crawfish pot pie, fried chicken & beignets, and a host of things prepared on the rotisserie. "We will be doing fish, chicken, and vegetables on the rotisserie; as creative as they can get,'' says Volk. "It will be very approachable; nothing too fancy.'' The restaurant, which will be designed by Kismet, will have approximately 90 seats and is due to open in March. This is the space that housed shortly-lived New American restaurant Chapter One.
