The owners reportedly plan to reopen in the West Village

Acclaimed small plates parlor Pearl & Ash closed on Saturday after more than three years on Bowery. Flo Flab reports that owners Branden McRill and Patrick Cappiello will keep the space at 220 Bowery for private events, and that they plan to open a similar concept in the West Village next year. The restaurant and wine bar first opened in February 2013 to much acclaim. It was known for its impressive and long wine list, and while wd~50 alum chef Richard Kuo led the kitchen, the Times awarded Pearl & Ash two stars in a review. But Kuo left the restaurant in 2015, and word is that his replacement Trae Basore left this past summer. The team’s neighboring Michelin-starred restaurant Rebelle remains open. No word yet on who will be running the Pearl & Ash revival in the West Village.
