Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, please move a little bit closer to your laptop or smartphone screen because we have a major announcement for you. Drumroll, trumpets, air horns, please: Melissa McCart is the new editor of Eater NY.
Melissa joins us from Newsday, where she was a dining critic. Before that, she also worked as a critic and restaurant columnist for the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette and the Miami New Times. McCart has extensive experience covering the hospitality industry, and she has an intimate knowledge of the NYC restaurant scene from her years living and working in the Tri-State area. We’re thrilled that she's joining the team.
In her new position, McCart will work with Robert Sietsema, Ryan Sutton, Serena Dai, Nick Solares, and Patty Diez to bring you up-to-the-minute NYC restaurant news, dining guides, reviews, and recommendations. Please follow here on Twitter at @MelissaMcCart, and please send any hot tips or juicy plywood photos her way.
As for me, former Eater NY editor Greg Morabito, I’m headed to a different corner of the EaterVerse soon, but I’ll be sticking around the office for the next week or so to show Melissa where we keep the food for the Critical Cats, and that photo of Kobe Club’s baked Alaska.
Please join me in welcoming Melissa to the good ship Eater.
