The 12 Days of Poke: Sons of Thunder

Eater’s senior critic continues his survey of NYC’s trendiest dish

[Sons of Thunder]

On the Fourth Day of Poke, My True Love Gave to Me…

[Sons of Thunder]

Ahi Tuna Poke with Cauliflower Rice at Sons of Thunder: This spacious spot tucked away on the eastern slope of Murray Hill sounds like a motorcycle gang but offers great poke flexibility, including octopus, a favorite choice in Hawaii itself. But My True Love wisely picked yellowfin, knowing it was my fave. And what a lush bowl it was! Sprinkled with tobiko and slicked with a spicy orange dressing, it was washed down with the excellent chocolate shake at Sons of Thunder. 204 E 38th St, 646- 863-2212
