Mister Dips delighted all the girls and boys of Brooklyn when he came to life this fall, peddling soft serve and hamburgers from an Airstream trailer at the William Vale Hotel. He won an Eater Awards for Best Mascot and high marks from professional carnivore Nick Solares, who remarked that his burger tasted "like a Peter Luger porterhouse — salty, charred, swimming in beef fat and butter." Mister Dips is one of the biggest surprises of fall 2016, but now, it’s time to say goodbye to this jolly soul.
Noho Hospitality Group is going to close the Airstream trailer restaurant for the winter after service next Wednesday, November 23. Till then, the Mister Dips team — lead by Andrew Carmellini and pastry chef Jason Casey — will be serving those hamburgers, veggie burgers, waffle fries, and dipped cones from noon till 9 p.m. at Vale Park on the corner of North 12th and Wythe. At the moment, there are no special appearances planned for the wintertime, but Mister Dips will definitely return in spring 2017.
