Eater Awards 2016: NYC Winners

Here are the chefs, restaurateurs, and eating establishments that defined the year in dining

Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, it’s time now to announce the — drumroll, trumpets, gongs, Drudge sirens — winners of the 2016 Eater Awards. They comprise a diverse group of the finest and most interesting chefs, operators, and characters on the continent that have defined this year in dining. We applaud them. You are hereby instructed to applaud them. Please tell someone else — a friend, a relative, your roommate or landlord — to applaud them as well.

To recap, Eater editors across the country nominated candidates in a handful of categories — including Restaurant of the YearChef of the Year, and Stone Cold Stunner. Editors picked winners from the nominees, and readers voted to award one nominee in each category with a readers’ choice award. In addition to these categories, Eater editors also singled out a few people and places that deserve special awards this year.
