Big news for Hamptons waterfront diners. Ronald Perelman, owner of Midtown power lunch spot Le Bilboquet, won a bid to take over the space at 1 Long Wharf, a huge space along the water that’s been in flux. Perelman’s been eying the space for a while. He tried to buy it earlier this year, but it ended up turning into Deckers Bar and Grill over the summer. By August, a judge converted the space from Chapter 11 to Chapter 7 liquidation, forcing an auction. The space once housed B. Smith’s, a restaurant chain from a former model. In the auction on Friday morning, Perelman won the bid. The restaurateur initially wanted to open a Le Bilboquet. But currently, it’s unclear what the final concept will be, though word is, a new Le Bilboquet is still in the running.
