Momofuku’s wildly popular cocktail bar Booker & Dax is celebrating its final week at 207 2nd Avenue with a greatest hits menu and guest bartenders. Starting Monday, the team will host a series of visiting bartenders including Austin Hennelly and Sother Teague of Amor y Amargo, Dante’s head bartender Stacey Swenson, and Donny Clutterbuck of Rochester’s Cure Bar.
On October 10, Booker & Dax founder Dave Arnold will step behind the bar with The Dead Rabbit’s Jesse Vida from 10:00 p.m. to midnight. Arnold — who named the bar after his two sons — previously expressed his interest in keeping Booker & Dax 2.0 very similar to the original. Arnold recently remarked: "It will be a progression...I want it to be very much the same." Arnold is also hoping to stay in the East Village.
On Saturday, October 15, the bar will serve its last drinks in the space as Ssäm Bar prepares to close for a renovation. It's unclear how long the renovations will take, but word on the street is that it might reopen after a week or so. On the bar's last night, the team will be celebrating into the wee hours with a farewell party featuring a throwback menu. Booker & Dax is closing for an indefinite amount of time. Stay tuned for more news as it becomes available.
