Jon Shook and Vinny Dotolo — the chefs behind wildly popular Los Angeles restaurants Jon & Vinny’s, Animal, and Son of a Gun — are teaming up with the Shake Shack crew for a special sandwich that will be available today and today only at the original Madison Square Park location of Danny Meyer’s burger chain. Earlier this month, Shook told Eater: "When Shake Shack came to L.A. we helped them, and they did a takeover at Son of a Gun before opening the first one." So now they’re returning the favor by adding a special to the menu today at the original NYC Shack. The LA dudes and Shake Shack Culinary Director Mark Rosati are going to be frying up cage free chicken breasts and topping them with spicy B & B pickle slack and "rooster aioli." Here’s a look at the Son of a Gun Chick’n Shack:
It costs $6.49 and will be available in Madison Square Park today starting at 11 a.m. today, while supplies last.
Whenever Shake Shack collaborates with big chefs on burgers, people are willing to endure bonkers lines — the queue for David Chang’s special Shackburger two years ago was so long that it practically wrapped around the entire park. Stay tuned for a peek at the line insanity later today.
