Tavern62

Chef David Burke, along with mega hospitality group ESquared, opened Tavern 62 on the Upper East Side over the weekend. The opening marked the chef’s return to the multi-level space at 135 East 62nd Street, most recently home to David Burke Fishtail before it closed earlier this yearAt the time Fishtail closed, Burke was not involved with the operations of the restaurant, having taken a "backseat" in May 2014 after a disagreement with Watershed Ventures. Burke, along with his ESquared partner Jimmy Haber, re-possessed the 62nd Street space over the summer.

The 135-seat restaurant is spread across two floors and includes a bar, upstairs solarium, and walls made of pink Himalayan sea salt. Executive chef Edward Cotton worked with Burke on the menu to offer dishes including lamb carbonara, peking pork shank, tuna steak, and roasted chicken soaked in seaweed. Tavern 62 is open Monday through Saturday for lunch, and every day for dinner. Check out the dinner menu below, and let us know what you think if you stop by.
