Gansevoort Market is moving to its new location in the Meatpacking District in the next few months, according to owner Chris Reda. The food hall's current location at 52 Gansevoort St. is being transformed into a new version of Keith McNally's restaurant Pastis. Meanwhile, the market, which doesn't have to leave the space until the fall, will move down the block to 353 West 14th St. in March or April, Reda says, though it may make the transition earlier.
The market, which will bring over most of the old vendors, will move into the new space as soon as design elements are finished, Reda says. "We're at the point where we're trying to make it look as much as the old one," he says. "It's just really making it look pretty." At most, vendors will be closed for about two weeks during the process. A firmer date will be announced in the coming weeks.
Nightclub The Griffin, which Reda also owns, will be closing in the next couple months as well, he says. Reda plans on opening a different concept across the street. Stay tuned for more details on both the bar and the new Gansevoort Market.
