American Cut, the restaurant that dares to serve one giant glazed carrot for $12, is expanding to The Lombardy Hotel at 111 East 56th Street. The new Midtown location of Marc Forgione and LDV's steakhouse will open this spring with a menu that will be similar to what's offered at the original in Tribeca. The restaurant will have a 130-seat dining room, plus a 40-seat lounge area where a bar menu will be served. Just like in Tribeca, this restaurant will offer something called a "plank-smoked Old Fashioned." LDV and Forgione also operate a location of American Cut in Puerto Rico, and another outpost is slated to open in Atlanta in the not-too-distant future. The failed Revel resort in Atlantic City also had a location of American Cut. Earlier this month, Forgione opened a lobster sandwich stand inside Midtown food hall The Pennsy called The Lobster Press.
