After 16 years in Grand Central's Dining Concourse, Two Boots is preparing to move a few blocks south. Two Boots founder and owner Phil Hartman confirms that the pizzeria will be moving to 337 Lexington Avenue at the beginning of March. When it opens, the Lexington Avenue location will be pizzeria-only and will not have the bar fans of the GC location have come to love. The new Midtown location will also allow for a vastly expanded delivery zone, says Hartman. The news comes less than a week after Donatella Arpaia announced she would be taking over the Grand Central space that is currently home to Two Boots.
Along with news of the move, Hartman is also announcing plans for five brand-new locations he and his son Leon will be adding to their mini-empire. First to open will be Two Boots Newport Centre — set to open next week in Jersey City — which will be the first mall location for the pizzeria. This spring will see the openings of the Lexington Avenue location as well as locations in Stamford, Connecticut; Washington DC's H Street; and Manhattan's Financial District. Of the five new locations, Hartman says the FiDi location (set to open late this spring) will be the most similar to Grand Central — it will even have a second floor lounge — but no word yet on just where, exactly, that FiDi location will be.
Hartman and his son currently oversee 17 locations of the Cajun and Italian inspired pizzeria all across the United States and they show no signs of slowing down. The final day for Two Boots Grand Central will be January 31.
