Nordic phenom Fredrik Berselius received liquor license approval from Brooklyn Community Board 3’s SLA Committee last Wednesday for his follow up to critical darling Aska, reports Bedford and Bowery. The new restaurant, which has yet to be named, will be located at 47 South 5th Street, just off Wythe Avenue, not too far from the restaurants original home at Kinfolk Studios. Berselius hopes to open by November of this year. Aska shuttered in March 2014 when it out grew the space. The original restaurant had only a handful of tables and served a tasting only menu in the dining room and snacks at the bar. The tasting menu will remain intact but the casual offerings will be expanded and served in a basement lounge and outdoor patio. The new restaurant will have seating for approximately 35 diners.
