Upper West Side Neighborhood Staple Josie's Shutters After 20 Years

Nearby Citrus, which was owned by the same team, shuttered several months ago.

Yelp

Longtime Upper West Side organic staple Josie's shuttered recently after 20 years on Amsterdam Avenue, reports West Side Rag. The shutter isn't terribly surprising. Citrus, which was just across the street, and was owned by the same team, shuttered a few months back and a Murray Hill outpost closed years before. As cozy (and lactose intolerant friendly) as Josie's was, it hadn't evolved much over the years and Yelpers note that the food had slipped in recent years. A note outside of the location doesn't explain the reason for the shutter or who the next tenant will be, but a Mexican restaurant from the Nice Matin team is coming to the Citrus space.
