Building on Bond's Cocktail Spinoff Robert Will Open Mid-September With a 70's Vibe

Phil Morgan, who owns Boerum Hill favorite Building on Bond, sends a few new details along about the bar's cocktail spinoff. First off, he's dubbing the bar (which is literally right next door) Robert, "because people call Building on Bond Bob, and Robert is a little bit more grown-up of a name." Morgan's design firm, Hecho Inc., whose office was based in the space until recently, is in the midst of transforming the storefront into a bar with a 1970's midwestern motel vibe, complete with stuff the team is picking up at a large flea market this summer and a vintage jukebox that plays 45s. Morgan also passes along that the bar should open September 14.

When it does, Josh White, who has spent time behind the bar at Bowery Meat Company and Tavern on the Green will be in charge of the drink program, which has a heavy focus on Brooklyn-made alcohols.
