The restaurant communities of NYC and Philly are coming together on July 20 at Del Posto to raise money for one of their own, Torrisi alum and co-owner and chef of High Street on Market and Fork Eli Kulp, who suffered a spinal cord injury during the Amtrak crash this spring. The roster of restaurants serving at the event includes DBGB, Santina, Ai Fiori, Casa Lever, Nobu 57, Ssam Bar, and several others. Master mixer Joe Campanale will be pouring drinks for the evening. There will also be a silent auction for items like tickets to the South Beach Wine & Food Festival, small dinners at "friends of Eli" restaurants (like those above), and tickets to Broadway shows.
VIP tickets to the event, which include an early cocktail hour, are $250. Regular admission is $150, with all of the proceeds from the evening going towards Kulp's rehabilitation.
Meanwhile, Kulp's business partner and High Street co-owner Ellen Yin promises that the team is still on track to open its first New York project, High Street on Hudson this fall.
