ASTORIA — The giant (read: 135 seat) Burnside Biscuits from the Bareburger team is officially open and serving its biscuits and super crispy fried chicken that's been brined in tea and lemon. Those biscuits are also used in the restaurant's sandwiches, stuffed with egg and cheese, blackened fish, or steak. And, for those craving something healthier, the menu offers several vegetable dishes roasted in the restaurant's wood-fired oven. Down the line, there may be an "express" spin-off, focusing just on fried chicken and biscuits, so stay tuned. Status: Certified open. 32-07 30th Avenue.

CHINATOWN — At 10Below, brothers Wilson and Richard Tam and partner David Chen are making Thai-inspired ice cream. Here, cream or custard and flavorings are poured onto a chilled metal container and frozen almost immediately. The technique ensures the smallest of ice crystals, writes Flo Fab. Status: Certified open. 10 Mott Street.

ASTORIA — A new pirate themed bar Fishtales opened recently serving fried clams, Tiki drinks, and sangria, notes We Heart Astoria. The space is decked out to look like a ship, complete with fishnets, a life preserver, and other nautical paraphernalia. Status: Certified open. 38-14 30th Avenue, 917-584-3344

GREENWICH VILLAGE — Cult vegan celeb Chloe Coscarelli and restaurant group E Squared just opened by Chloe, a vegan restaurant selling various vegan burgers, salads, and juices. Status: Certified open. 185 Bleecker Street.

Rooftop 93 is two stories: an indoor bar with floor to ceiling windows on the 18th floor and a rooftop bar one flight of stairs up, reports DNAinfo. The menu includes a few house cocktails like Bowery Boozer (essentially a Long Island iced tea) and dumplings from the hotel's restaurant Elevate. Note: The bar has a $25 drink minimum to sip on the roof. Status: Soft open. 93 Bowery.
