Take a look around Good Night Sonny, a new cocktail and seafood bar that's now open in the East Village. Restaurateurs Jason Mendenhall and Robert Ceraso worked on this new project with the bar team that helped them open their first cocktail lounge, The Wayland. Taking over the space that formerly housed longtime lounge Simone Martini Bar, the room has been completely revamped with a tile mosaic floor, plenty of wood and exposed brick, and photographs of old New York.

The bar is named after Ceraso's grandfather Sonny who once owned a bar on Mulberry Street (his picture hangs proudly in the new bar) and kept bartending hours long after selling it off — thus his wife Rose would say "good night, Sonny" to him each morning. The cocktails are seasonally focused and are expected to change quarterly. The food menu is principally comprised of seafood but there are a few options for land lubbers as well.
