Noodletown’s Chinese Charcuterie Tastes Best In the Middle of the Night

Here's a midnight munchies recommendation from Eater's senior critic.

Great NY Noodletown, Chinatown
Open until 4 a.m., seven days
28 Bowery, (212) 349-0923
During her tenure at the New York Times, Ruth Reichl reviewed Noodletown and it was clearly her favorite spot in Chinatown. The menu is more elaborate than most duck shops, with steaming bowls of noodle soup in dozens of varieties, Hong Kong-style lo meins, congees, over-rice stir fries, and, of course, Chinese charcuterie, of which the best is baby pig. Don't forget to ask for the green scallion-ginger sauce sometimes called goeng jung.
