Perla Gets a New Lighter Look and Menu; Taste of Texas Fundraiser

GREENWICH VILLAGE — After three years, Gabe Stulman's Italian charmer Perla got an new lighter and menu. There's now a family-style section for large format dishes like lasagna with English peas, escarole, ramps and pecorino. Also on the menu are sardines with tripe, tomatoes, olives, and fennel, and roman gnocchi with spring scafata, sheep's milk cheese, and a soft poached egg. [EaterWire]

AROUND TOWN — A number of Texas-inspired and Tex-Mex restaurants are helping raise funds for relief work following the devastating flooding in Central Texas. People who donate $50 will receive a Taste of Texas Passport which grants them one free dish at 10 participating restaurants including Delaney BBQ, Javelina, and Tres Carnes. [EaterWire]

UNION SQUARE — Chris Jaeckle has a new summer menu at All'Onda, which sports crab, bacalao, and spinach fonduta served with polenta chips, a crudo tasting, and tortelli with morels, peas, favas, and ricotta salata. [EaterWire]
