UPPER WEST SIDE — Amsterdam Avenue staple Brother Jimmy's looked like it abruptly shuttered last Sunday, tipsters and staffers confirmed the shutter was for good. The team was planning to move into the former Ditch Plains space, but now Fusha West is headed there. Now, there's a sign outside that says the space is going under renovations and "we hope to be back and runnin' soon." [West Side Rag]
EAST VILLAGE — Southern spot (and good neighbor) The Cardinal quietly slipped into the darkness beneath our noses this spring. There are already plans for a Spanish restaurant to move in.
MORNINGSIDE HEIGHTS — Columbia hangout Amsterdam Lounge has called it quits. The space is on the market for an unspecified sum. [West Side Rag]
UNION SQUARE — Mama Gyro's downtown location has brown paper up in the windows and a real estate sign hanging outside. The uptown location seems to be doing fine.
