PARK SLOPE — Latin-themed bakery and ice cream shop Delicias Urbanas is planning to open by mid-July with Colombian cheese bread, Cuban sandwiches, and some seriously unusual ice cream flavors like corn elote, spicy tomatillo, fermented pineapple and cactus, and quinoa horchata. There will also be some sorbets. 86 Fifth Avenue. [Here's Park Slope]

MIDTOWN WEST — East Village Lebanese restaurant Balade is expanding with a fast casual concept. The lease was just signed, so it's too early to discuss a menu, but the place will definitely be grab and go. 144 West 37th Street. [PLYWOOD]

UPPER WEST SIDE — Comfort food spot Jacob's Pickles is applying for a liquor license to add a basement bar, though some of its neighbors aren't happy about it. 509 Amsterdam Avenue. [PLYWOOD, DNAinfo]

HARLEM — A restaurant (bar? nightclub? it's unclear at the moment) called Harlem Nights is under construction at the corner of 138th Street and 7th Avenue. [Harlem + Bespoke]

EAST VILLAGE — Signage is up at the first brick and mortar outpost of Dan and John's Wings, a Smorgasburg regular. The place has been in the works for a little while now, but that sign likely means a summer opening. 135 First Avenue. [EV Grieve]

BOWERY — Back in September of 2014, the Department of health shuttered Congee on the Bowery after it racked up 65 violation points during an inspection. The place never made a comeback. Now, a hot-pot and Chinese barbecue restaurant called Funny BBQ is getting ready to open in its place. A sign outside says it's "coming soon." 98 Bowery. [BB]

LONG ISLAND CITY — The owners of Hunters Point's restaurants SHI and Skinny Cantina are planning to open a "modern Greek" place called Kavala Estiatorio sometime shortly after the 4th of July. The website's live, but there's no menu quite yet. 10-07 50th Avenue. [We Heart LIC]
