EAST VILLAGE — This weekend, DBGB is kicking off its local food seminar series, Sunday Session. First up, Greenhook Ginsmiths is hosting a gin cocktail event, where guests will learn about the history of distilling in Brooklyn and sample some of Greenhook's booze. RED HOOK — Fort Defiance is devoting this Thursday's Sunken Harbor Club to the women competing in Speed Rack, the all-female bartending competition, by offering tiki cocktails selected by 14 the competitors including a Queen's Park Swizzle from Portland's Angel Teta. Fort Defiance will donate $3 from every cocktail sold to Share Cancer Support. This year's national Speed Rack final will be held at Webster Hall this Sunday. [EaterWire]

EAST VILLAGE — Lois, the tap wine bar that opened in Alphabet City in March, is rolling out a weekend brunch menu this weekend, starting Saturday at noon. Each menu item is designed to pair with one of the 15 wines available on tap.
