French Riviera hot spot Mamo Le Michelangelo, which is a regular Hollywood hangout during The Cannes Film Festival, is opening a Soho outpost Friday called simply Mamo. Owner Mike Mammoliti has brought over Italian chef Massimo Sola, who worked for Eataly in Rome and at the once Michelin-starred Ristorante Quattri Mori. Here he'll serve Mammoliti's recipes for a mostly Italian menu with just a couple of Provencal nods like a Nicoise salad. Nothing on the menu is too out of the classic NYC Italian restaurant box, though. There are four classic pizzas, ossobucco, gnocchi with gorgonzola, and a house burger with truffles and foie that comes in at a whopping $37. The space is white washed, with a little bit of color from hand painted tiles and oversized vintage movie posters. Stay tuned for a better look around later on.
