Ssam Bar's Serving a Limited-Time Burger; Genuine Superette Launches Breakfast

Plus, Oxido's Cinco de Mayo special and City Harvest's lunch-time fundraiser.

EAST VILLAGE — Momofuku Ssam Bar bought a half a steer from Good Farms and will be serving a few special dishes over the coming days, including a burger topped with bacon marmalade and cheddar. Also on the menu: a confit shank for 4-6 people with sunchokes and tatsoi. [EaterWire]

AROUND TOWN — City Harvest is aiming to raise $1 million with their Skip Lunch Fight Hunger fundraiser. From May 11 to 15, corporate teams in NYC can commit their funds normally spent on lunch towards helping combat childhood hunger. In exchange for a donation, participants will get lunch from a truck serving food made by Geoffrey Zakarian, Ivy Stark, and a handful of other celebrity chefs. Find out more information here. LITTLE ITALY — AvroKO's new Genuine Superette is launching breakfast this week. Expect breakfast tacos with egg whites, avocado, cotija, tomatoes, and house chili sauce, a breakfast burrito, and granola made with coconut, olive oil, sesame, and pumpkin seeds. [EaterWire]

FLATIRON — San Antonio chef Jesse Perez's fast-casual NYC concept Oxido is celebrating Cinco de Mayo tomorrow with a special shrimp taco for $5. Black beans, guacamole, red chile crema, and of course, shrimp are stuffed into a crispy corn tortilla. [EaterWire]
