As developers continue to dig deeper into the subterranean space under NYC's streets — hello, TurnStyle — plans are moving forward for an underground bowling alley at Essex Crossings. Instead of local favorite Bowlmor, "luxury" alley Splitsville Lanes will open under Essex Street near Delancey Street in mid to late 2017, reports DNAinfo. The chain, which has lanes in Texas, Massachusetts, Virginia, and Florida, calls the 17,000-square-foot project a "bowling, dining, and family venue." It's too early for a menu, but other locations serve pizza, sushi, calamari, and rice bowls. Hopefully, there will be booze to go with that. Upstairs, will be that 14 screen Regal Cinemas, housing, and the Essex Street Market when it opens in its new home in 2017 or 2018.
