Former BLT restaurateur Laurent Tourondel has his hands full this season. He recently opened his bar The Vine at the Eventi Hotel and he's now staffing up his new Italian-inflected American restaurant, L'Amico. There's not a ton of information out there about L'Amico, but a recent job posting for staff says it will have a wood-burning oven, an open kitchen, and floor to ceiling windows that sound like they will push back accordion style into an al fresco dining space along the sidewalk with room for 90 people. And, Gael Greene promised there would be pizza. New Yorkers should know soon enough. A staffer at the hotel's front desk says the restaurant is slated to open mid-June, but a rep for Tourondel says the opening has been delayed because of construction and likely won't come until early fall.
