Wolffer Kitchen, the first restaurant from the famous wine-making family, is set to open next month at 29 Main Street in Sag Harbor on the bones of what was The Cuddy. "Launching a restaurant is a natural extension of our brand," says Marc Wölffer, who is behind the project along with his sister Joey. The menu, from chef Deena Chafetz, will be modern American with Mediterranean influences, and a focus on seafood and local ingredients. The food is, naturally, selected to pair well with the wine list, 60 percent of which will be wines from Long Island, including, of course, Wolffer selections. Wolffer Kitchen will also offer largely local craft beer, cider, and spirits. The room is being designed with natural wood and aged materials. The space is meant to be "modern yet cozy" and to echo "the bohemian spirit of the Hamptons Marc and I knew as kids,"says Joey Wolffer, who owns the Styleliner and oversaw the restaurant's look along with Sagaponack firm Martin Architects.
