April Bloomfield and Ken Friedman Have Eyes for a Four-Story FiDi Restaurant

The 'deal is all but done,' reports Steve Cuozzo.

70 Pine Street

The Spotted Pig's queen and king, April Bloomfield and Ken Friedman, are looking downtown, way downtown, for their next project. The two have all but signed the papers for a four-story restaurant in the former AIG tower at 70 Pine Street, reports Steve Cuozzo. The 150-200 seat restaurant is slated for floors 62 to 66, which sport some serious views of Manhattan, Jersey, and Brooklyn. But, nothing is quite definite yet. Friedman tells Cuozzo: "We hope we are doing this extraordinary project. This is one of New York's most beautiful buildings and the top floors are breathtaking. I'll let you know as soon as we are definitely doing it." If this all goes down, one floor would be dedicated to fine dining while the rest would serve small plates and drinks. The restaurants will be open to the public, but there will be priority reservations for people who live in the building.

Meanwhile, Friedman is moving forward with his project at 45 Bond Street.
