O Cafe's Fundraiser for Nepal; Vendy Plaza Opens in East Harlem

WEST VILLAGE — O Cafe is hosting a fundraiser for relief efforts in Nepal following the recent devastating earthquakes. Tickets for the May 19 event are $60 each (a link will be available soon), which buys wine from California's Luli and Robert Sinskey Vineyards, plus entry into a raffle, with prizes from Momofuku Milk Bar and Empellón Al Pastor. All proceeds will go to Team Rubicon, which is currently on the ground in Nepal. [EaterWire]

WEST VILLAGE Left Bank is offering free corkage on Sundays and Mondays. Sundays at Left Bank also means movies to go with your BYOB wine. The Left Bank Picture Show kicks off on May 24th at 8 p.m. with a screening of Jaws. Special themed drinks and dishes will be available for each movie, with a "Blood in the Water" cocktail for Jaws. Later this summer, expect screenings of Wet Hot American Summer, The Muppet Show, and Jurassic Park. Reservations are recommended. [EaterWire]

EAST HARLEM — Following their November trial run, Vendy Plaza is reopening this Sunday at La Marqueta from noon to 6 p.m., and will be there every weekend this summer. Twenty food stalls from various Vendy finalists will be there, including Hot Bread Kitchen, Solber Pupusas, and Samosa Shack. There will also be live music and a beer garden featuring a rotation of local craft breweries. [EaterWire]

MEATPACKING DISTRICT — Gansevoort Market has three new summer vendors: There's M’o Il Gelato with its small-batch gelato and signature hot panino gelato ice cream sandwich. For those who prefer popsicles, there's The Pop Guys, which will debut booze-infused pops soon. And, there's Staten Island's Aunt Butchies in-house, selling cones with cheesecake filling. DUMBO — Edible Brooklyn's 9th Annual Brooklyn Uncorked is happening at 26 Bridge on May 28. Menu highlights include duck pâté with asparagus and pickled ramps from Gramercy Tavern, tacos with fresh masa from Palo Santo, and wines from TasteNY and several New York-state wineries, including Brooklyn Winery and Shinn Estate. Tickets are $70 and bottles will be available for purchase.
