French Riviera Celeb Spot Mamo Crosses the Atlantic, Lands in Sunny Soho Space

The simple and clean, white washed bar area is a stunner.

French Riviera celeb favorite Mamo Le Michelangelo just opened its first U.S. outpost, a roomy Soho restaurant called simply Mamo. The two story space is light and bright, with a banquette-lined lounge area, and a cavernous upstairs dining room a bit like the original in Antibes, which is located in an old monestary. Mirrors and framed vintage movie posters scattered around break up the expanses of whitewashed walls.

Despite the restaurant's French origins, the menu at Mamo is more Italian staples from owner Mike Mammoliti's family, than French coastal fare, executed by former Eataly Rome chef Massimo Sola. There are a few pizzas, gnocchi with gorgonzola, truffle risotto, and spaghetti with clams, as well as a house burger with truffles and foie, because this is New York after all.
