Behold Grand Army Bar, the oyster and cocktail lounge from Mile End's Noah Bernamoff, master barman Damon Boelte, Ruccola's Julian Brizzi, and Eater photographer Daniel Krieger. The bar will finally swing open its doors next Tuesday, offering a selection of craft cocktails inspired by old American railroad lines and artisans brews. A seafood, toast and salad heavy menu comes from Alder and wd~50 vet Jon Bignelli
The airy interior design is by American Construction League, who also designed stone cold stunner Russ & Daughters Cafe. It features a vintage 1930's bar (that looks a bit like the one Boelte restored at Prime Meats) set underneath a stunning cobalt blue mirror from the same era. There is a custom build oyster bar and a total of 60 seats divided evenly between bar and tables. Arguably the center piece of the room is the wood burning fireplace crowned by a bar, but given the weather, it might not be ablaze for a few months.
Take a look around and check back next week for menus.
