The wildly popular Sichuan mini-chain Han Dynasty will open its doors on the Upper West Side in just a few days, more than two weeks ahead of schedule, reports DNAinfo. Owner Han Chiang is bringing his chef Mei da Liu from Philly mother ship to get things started in the kitchen. The menu, Eater's told, will be like the one available in the Village, so expect dan dan noodles and lots of chilies.
The new location is in the old Bocca di Bacco space and is pretty big, it seats 175 including a private dining room that can be rented out for parties, something that's not been possible downtown. When the UWS restaurant opens, it will be without its liquor license. The community board signed off on the application yesterday, but the SLA still needs to give its approval.
