Food cart legend Freddy Zeideia, aka The King of Falafel & Shawarma, will start serving his Vendy Award winning falafel and shwarma at his first brick and mortar restaurant next month. The new location will open in a just a block from the original cart in Astoria, but don't worry, the cart in Astoria, as well as the one in Midtown, aren't going anywhere, reports DNAinfo. At the restaurant, expect takeout and delivery, plus counter service, seating for 30, and an expanded menu of Middle Eastern fare like charcoal-grilled kabobs, hummus, baba ganoush, and tabouli. The space is currently occupied by an outlet of cheap eats spot Chirping Chicken, which so far hasn't explained when or why it's shuttering.
