Want to drink well for less money? There are a number of both well established and newer wine deals to be found in the city, and at some of the best destinations for a good glass of wine. But these programs can sometimes feel like insider secrets: if you aren't following the right Instagram account or on the correct email chain, you may never hear about them. Big Bottle Glasspours at
In one of the most successful and noted wine program promotions in the history of such things, head sommelier Michael Madrigale announces via email and on his Instagram which big bottle (magnum, double magnum, or bigger) he will be offering by the glass each night. Glass pours are generally $29 or less, and the value for the dollar is usually strong, with many super prestigious bottles having been opened over the years. Champagne Campaign at Corkbuzz
Each night from 10 p.m. until closing time all bottles of Champagne (but not Cava or Prosecco) are offered at half of their normal price from the wine list. This offer is good at both Corkbuzz locations, in Union Square and in the Chelsea Market, and it is also offered during brunch service on the weekends. Every other Saturday features a drop-in wine tasting opportunity at Del Posto. Guests get to try five different wine tastes, grouped by a different theme for each tasting, for only $5 in cash. The tasting starts at 1 p.m., and is led by a member of the Del Posto sommelier team. No reservations are required to attend. A large format bottle (magnum or larger) is opened and poured by the glass starting at 10 p.m. each evening at this contemporary wine bar meets lounge in midtown west. Champagne Made Me Do It at Piora
A different Champagne is selected each week and announced on Instagram. The pricing is low for the quality offered, generally $13 to $15 per glass, and 30 glasses are available until the offer runs out for the week. Treno Enoteca at
Once a month starting at 10 p.m. Otto offers specially picked Italian wines at low bottle prices to diners. The train board near the host stand is used to indicate which wines are available at a given time. The next Treno Enoteca night is scheduled for May 6. Monday Industry Night at
