Later this spring, Gabe Thompson, Joe Campanale and the rest of the team behind the small empire of popular neighborhood trattorias that includes Dell'anima and L'Apicio, will open a restaurant in the courtyard of the High Line Hotel. Alta Linea, as it's called, will be an outdoor restaurant, and therefore seasonal. It will serve a variety of summery Italian cocktails like spritzes and frozen negronis (regular negronis are also an option), alongside a full Italian food menu. Capitalizing on its proximity to the High Line and Hudson River Park, It will also pull the cute move of offering customizable picnic baskets for pickup. Look for it to open pretty soon, especially since it will be limited to the warm months once it does.
